I’ve been lucky enough, in my time not at work, to spend my time sitting on the beach and looking out onto the BC oceans. My inspiration.
Inspiration helps to flourish new ideas in the creative mind. For those who are creative thinkers, I’m sure you can relate. I personally find my inspiration in nature; water, trees, land, the colours and the sounds all around. Inspiration can be found anywhere and in any form, you just need to open up your mind and sharpen your senses to see it and feel it.
I make it a point to explore and find serenity in places of inspiration where I can be with my own thoughts and ideas without being prompted or swayed by others opinions and comments.
Last week I found myself venturing into the Vancouver Art Gallery on a rainy day to feel inspired by others creative processes. When thinking about the creative mind and how people come up with new and innovative ideas, it is important to understand that new ideas stem and are inspired by previously executed ideas. Ideas do not just magically appear out of thin air, they have to be inspired.
“Curiosity about life in all of its aspects, I think, is still the secret of great creative people” – Leo Burnett
